FOURTEEN NOMINATED TO GRADE II GEORGIA CUP
The nomination list for the $75,000 Georgia Cup (Gr. II) overflowed to include 14 horses headed by recent stakes winners Paradise's Boss and Riddle. The race, a 2-mile test over hurdles, will be run at the Atlanta Steeplechase in Kingston, Ga., April 14.

Ann Stern's Paradise's Boss, who returned from an 18-month layoff to win the Southern Bank and Trust Imperial Cup at Aiken March 24, leads a tough group of potential runners. The 7-year-old has won eight stakes and has earned $279,968 for Maryland-based trainer Jack Fisher.

High Hope Stable's Riddle opened 2007 with a stakes win at Little Everglades March 11, looking like a future star for South Carolina-based trainer Arch Kingsley. The 6-year-old will get another chance to prove it at Atlanta.

Bill Pape's Mixed Up, a $200,000 earner last season, looks to make his 2007 debut for trainer Jonathan Sheppard. The Pennsylvania-bred finished second in the Atlanta race last season, but went on to win a Grade I steeplechase at Saratoga.

Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Party Airs won a stakes at Far Hills in October and would be the co-highweight (with Mixed Up) at 154 pounds if he makes the Atlanta trip. The 8-year-old has won four American jump races after competing in Ireland for Dermot Weld. Party Airs' trainer Tom Voss also nominated The Looper, who races for another powerful flat owner Mill House.

The nomination list (with trainer): Bow Strada (Bruce Miller), Class Vantage (Lilith Boucher), Kilbeggan Lad (Bruce Haynes), Mark The Shark (Jack Fisher), Mauritania (Richard Valentine), Mixed Up (Jonathan Sheppard), Niello (William Cocks), Paradise's Boss (Fisher), Party Airs (Tom Voss), Reflector (Haynes), Riddle (Arch Kingsley), Sailmaker (Fisher), Seafaring Man (Sheppard), The Looper (Voss).

Entries close Tuesday, April 10.

BAKER'S DOZEN AIM FOR MY LADY'S MANOR

The historic race goes postward for the 97th time this year, and attracted 2006 timber division champion Askim among the crowd of nominees. Owned by Irv Naylor and trained in Maryland by Ann Stewart, Askim won three stakes in 2006 and aims for the Maryland Hunt Cup (April 28) this year.

Stakes winners Mr Bombastic and Rosbrian, along with 2004 timber champion Bubble Economy, join Askim on the list of nominees.

The complete list (with trainer): Bubble Economy (Jack Fisher), Fappa Fire (Alicia Murphy), Irish Laddie (Ricky Hendriks), Iron County Xmas (Doug Fout), Mr Bombastic (Fisher), Patriot's Path (Bruce Haynes), Rosbrian (Casey Randall), Royal's Quest (Billy Meister), Seeking Seattle (Sanna Hendriks), Shady Valley (Haynes), The Bruce (Sanna Hendriks), Timmy R (Ricky Hendriks).
