Phillip Dutton won his ninth consecutive United States Eventing Association leading rider award (his 10th overall) in 2008. With 738 points, the Australian-born gold medalist outdistanced his student Boyd Martin by 102 points. Dutton finally earned his first Rolex trophy when Connaught took home America’s biggest prize. Beyond that, Dutton rode in the Olympics as an American for the first time, but was disqualified for a technicality in the show jumping. |
